A Recipe for the Perfect Holiday Table

Shop the essential ingredients

If you haven't noticed, we've been doing a lot of holiday baking around here. In the midst of all the cakes and cookies, we thought we'd share our recipe for an easy to throw together, fancifully festive holiday table. And like any good recipe, feel free to improvise to suit your taste; you can't go wrong with these evergreen favorites.

"The Pantry"

Think of these as the pantry items of your dining collection; the flour, sugar and eggs. These are the essentials to always have on hand.

Linen napkins

An imperative dining item in terms of function, linen napkins also add texture, pattern and color to the holiday table. They are a cinch to launder and so much more special than paper napkins.

Dishes

Consider serving different courses on different plates. Your everyday set can easily be layered with special holiday dishes in colors and patterns you might not use throughout the year.

Flatware

It's tempting to use disposables when entertaining, but don't skimp on the cutlery. We love a set that mixes metals for an interesting table scape.

Glasses

Stemware is certainly the easiest way to elevate the art of dining. No matter what you're pouring, everyone loves drinking from a fancy glass.

Mood lighting

The act of lighting a candle at the table sets apart the moment as a special meal and should never be overlooked. Collect candles and candlesticks that you can use throughout the years.
