Bethany's Go-To Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
1 stick butter, softened (1/2 cup)
1/2 cup shortening
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cup chocolate chips (I like semisweet!)
Flaky sea salt
Directions
1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. Combine flour, baking soda and salt. In a different bow, combine softened butter with shortening, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla. Beat until creamy. Add egg and mix well. Stir in chocolate chips.
3. Form small dough balls and bake for 8-10 minutes. While cooling, add a small sprinkle of sea salt to each cookie if desired.
